Roberts-Blake Signs with CFL

April 21, 2003

ATLANTA–Former Georgia Tech offensive lineman Raymond Roberts-Blake of Walthourville, Ga., has signed a free agent contract to play professional football with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

A three-year letterwinner and a member of the Tech team from 1999-2002, the 6-2, 275-pound Roberts-Blake started 32 games in his career, playing either left guard or right guard. He helped Tech to four consecutive winning seasons and four straight bowl games, including last season’s Silicon Valley Football Classic.

In 2002, he started every game at right guard and was elected one of Tech’s permanent team captains.

Roberts-Blake was an honorable mention prep all-America at Bradwell Institute, where he lettered four years for coach Jim Walsh.

Roberts-Blake is the second member of Tech’s 2002 squad to sign with the CFL, joining punt return specialist Kelley Rhino, now with the Montreal Alouettes.
