Robbins & Depland Named Wendy's Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA-Tech baseball standout Whit Robbins and track star Brandy Depland were named the Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, May 10, 2004.

Robbins, a freshman from Calhoun, Ga., hit .778 (7-for-9) in Tech’s three game sweep of Duke. He had two doubles, drove in five runs and scored six runs. Robbins walked three times without striking out. Over the weekend, he had a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .846 on base percentage.

Depland, a sophomore from Katy, Texas, had a pair of runner-up finishes in the long jump and triple jump. She tallied an NCAA Region qualifying mark in both events, finishing with a personal-best mark of 20’2.50″ in the long jump. Dapland posted her second NCAA Region mark in the triple jump with a leap of 42’4.25″.
