Powlen Leads Jackets on Day One of Tiger Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. – Redshirt freshman Andy Powlen led the Georgia Tech men’s track and field team with a second-place finish in the shot put, finishing with an indoor personal-record mark of 56 feet, 4 ¾ inches, at the Tiger Classic on Friday night.

Freshman Nigel Orr finished seventh in the men’s long jump with a mark of 22 feet, 4 ¼ inches.

Day two of the Tiger Classic will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
