… Tech’s 21 wins ties for the third-most victories in school history

… Tech’s win today made it the No. 5 seed in next week’s ACC Tournament, and the Yellow Jackets will play Clemson at 11 a.m. Thursday in the first round. The Jackets were picked to finish sixth in the ACC preseason poll.

… Tech shot 39.1 percent from the floor to Virginia’s 50 percent, yet won by eight. Tech had 9 offensive rebounds was 20-of-24 from the free throw line, while Virginia had a season-high 28 turnovers to Tech’s 19.
