Perfect Day for Tech at USTA Clay Court Invitational

Kissimmee, Fla. – Georgia Tech enjoyed a perfect day at the USTA Clay Court Invitational Saturday, going 3-for-3 in singles matches in the consolation bracket while also winning their only doubles match.

Sophomore Nathan Rakitt bounced Tennessee’s Sunay Bhat, 6-3, 6-0, while freshman Cole Fiegel outlasted Tulsa’s Dylan McCloskey, 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8). Each improved to 2-1 on the weekend. Meanwhile, freshman Carlos Benito, Tech’s only first-round winner in the main draw Thursday, also improved to 2-1 by beating Florida State’s Michael Rinaldi, 6-3, 7-6 (5).

Rakitt and Fiegel evened their doubles record for the weekend at 1-1 by downing the Seminoles’ Rinaldi and Grayson Goldin, 8-4.
