Online Auction Open for 2006 Game-Worn Football Jerseys

THE FLATS — Georgia Tech athletics has partnered with The Players Trunk to release a collection of authentic, game-issued and game-worn football jerseys from the Yellow Jackets’ 2006 season through a limited-time online auction.

The auction, featuring a selection of jerseys from the 2006 campaign, is open now and runs through May 29, exclusively at theplayerstrunkauction.com. The release offers fans, alumni and collectors a unique opportunity to acquire original pieces tied to Georgia Tech football history.

Led by College and Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson and first-team all-Atlantic Coast Conference defensive tackle Joe Anoa’i, now known as longtime WWE superstar Roman Reigns, the 2006 Yellow Jackets went 9-5, won Tech’s first-ever ACC Coastal Division championship and played in the 2007 Gator Bowl.

The Players Trunk will manage the auction process end-to-end, including item intake, photography, listing, marketing and fulfillment, helping bring the collection to a national audience.

“We’re excited to partner with Georgia Tech athletics to bring these game jerseys to market,” said Austin Pomerantz, Founder of The Players Trunk. “There’s strong demand for authentic, game-worn college gear, and this is a great opportunity for fans to own a real piece of Georgia Tech football history.”

“We’re proud to partner with The Players Trunk to offer this exciting opportunity for Georgia Tech fans to own an authentic piece of Yellow Jackets’ football history,” Georgia Tech vice president and director of athletics Ryan Alpert said.

The partnership provides a streamlined way for athletic departments to monetize legacy gear while maintaining a high-quality experience for buyers.
