North & Molnar Advance To Finals at Baylor Intercollegiates

Sept. 24, 2006

WACO, Tex. – David North and Eric Molnar won their semifinal match against UT-Arlington’s Daniel Omana and Gonzalo Bienzabos Sunday morning to advance to the gold draw final in the Baylor 2006 HEB Intercollegiate, which is being contested at the Baylor Tennis Center Sept. 22-24.

“[David and Eric’s] chemistry as a team has really come together over the past few matches,” said Georgia Tech assistant coach Josh Hausman. “They compliment each other well and have a real presence on the court as a team.”

The Yellow Jacket duo couldn’t pull out the championship in the final however, falling to Wichita State’s doubles team of Goran Vujaklija and Boris Gubic, 8-6.

Earlier in the day, North’s run in the singles bracket ended in a tough semifinal match against Baylor’s 23rd-ranked Michal Kokta, 6-7, 5-7. North, who is unranked in singles play, had won three straight matches against ranked opponents entering the semifinal match vs. Kokta.
