CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Mar. 27) — The Tar Heels of North Carolina won two of three doubles matches to clinch a win over the Jackets in women’s tennis action Sunday in Chapel Hill. The loss to No. 51 UNC dropped No. 27 Georgia Tech’s record to 10-5 (1-3 ACC).
The match was split 3-3 after singles play. Mysti Morris picked up a win over Kendrick Bunn of Carolina in the No. 3 spot 6-1, 6-2. Jaime Wong won in No. 4 over Caroline Hill 6-1, 6-3. Jacket Laura Ozolins got the other win over Tar Heel Kate Pinchbeck 6-7, 3-6, 7-5.
In doubles play, Tech’s pair of Sabrina Pardo and Bobbi Guthrie got the only Jacket win in doubles over Marlene Mejia and Erin Niebling.
Georgia Tech will return home this weekend to play host to Virginia on Saturday, April 1 at the Bill Moore Tennis Center on the Georgia Tech campus.
