ATLANTA – After concluding the home portion of its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule last weekend, the sixth-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will hit the road for a pair of matches in North Carolina this weekend, facing Wake Forest Saturday before squaring off with NC State Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 12 noon.
The Yellow Jackets enter the weekend riding a six-match winning streak, including wins over No. 9 Miami, No. 15 Florida State, No. 13 North Carolina and No. 20 Duke in the last two weeks.
All eight members of the team appear in this week’s singles rankings, led by junior Kristi Miller, who is ranked No. 5 in the nation in singles and stands at No. 7 in doubles, teaming with fellow junior Whitney McCray.
McCray is also one of six Yellow Jackets ranked in the top-100 in singles, as she stands at No. 79, joining Miller, Kirsten Flower (30), Christy Striplin (46), Amanda Craddock (69) and Alison Silverio (80).
Rounding out the rankings are 103rd-ranked Tarryn Rudman and No. 116 Amanda McDowell.
Joining McCray and Miller in the doubles rankings is Tech’s No. 2 doubles combination of Silverio and Craddock, who currently stand at No. 40 in the ITA Doubles Rankings.
Following the Jackets’ weekend in North Carolina, Tech will host Furman in the final home match for seniors Rudman and Silverio next Wednesday afternoon.
