ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech softball team (43-18, 12-9 ACC) will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, May 11-14, at Anderson Stadium. The Yellow Jackets will be the No. 4 seed in the tourney and face No. 5 seed Florida State (38-25, 10-10 ACC) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET.
The seeds for the tournament are as follows: No. 1 NC State (44-18, 14-6), No. 2 North Carolina (46-15, 13-7), No. 3 Virginia Tech (37-17, 12-8), No. 6 Virginia (28-24, 7-13), No. 7 Maryland (32-25, 7-13) and No. 8 Boston College (22-24, 6-15).
The tournament will set-up exactly like the College World Series, where there will be two four-team brackets with a single championship game on Sunday at Noon. The championship game will be televised by Fox Sports Net on tape delay at 4:30 p.m.
Friday and Saturday action will have live video webcasts provided by Raycom Sports, with the association of the ACC. The schedule for the webcasts is provided down below.
The Yellow Jackets won the 2005 ACC Tournament title with a 1-0 victory over Virginia Tech in the title game. The Jackets have appeared in three of the last four ACC Championship games, winning two of them in 2002 and ’05.

Live stats will be provided at www.ramblinwreck.com. Raycom Sports will also offer live video webcasts from the second and third days of the ACC Tournament. Fans with broadband (high-speed) connections on personal computers will be able to watch live coverage of the event through www.theacc.com.
