THE FLATS – No. 34 Georgia Tech women’s tennis returns to the courts for its lone match of the weekend on Sunday at Clemson. First serve is slated for 3 p.m. at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
THE SCENE: Georgia Tech (11-9, 6-5 ACC) plays its final regular season road match against the Clemson Tigers, looking to extend its win streak and collect its third ACC road win. The Yellow Jackets took a break from conference play to pocket a pair of non-conference wins at North Alabama last Tuesday. The doubleheader capped a string of four matches in five days after having played at Notre Dame and at Virginia over the weekend. Kenya Jones, ranked No. 13 in the latest ITA rankings, continues to pace the Jackets with a 25-10 overall singles record and 8-3 conference ledger.
Clemson, which hosts No. 4 Duke on Friday, carries an 8-12 overall record and 2-8 ACC ledger into the weekend. The Tigers are on a two-match skid having fallen at Miami and at Florida State most recently. After being on the road for a month, Clemson last played at home on March 3, the Tigers own a 7-3 record on its home courts.
