ATLANTA – The No. 25 ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team (5-6) begins a five-match, 10 day road trip when it travels to Auburn, Ala., to take on the No. 62 Auburn Tigers (7-5) in a 1:30 p.m. CT match at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
After facing the Tigers, Georgia Tech will make the short trip south to take on the 39th-ranked Florida State Seminoles at noon Saturday. From there, the Yellow Jackets will go to Miami to face the No. 12 ranked Hurricanes in 2 p.m. match March 21 in Coral Gables, Fla.
The Jackets will travel up the Eastern seaboard to close out their road trip. Tech will play No. 69 Maryland at 2 p.m. March 23 and have a short turnaround before playing No. 53 Boston College at 5 p.m. March 24 in Sudbury, Mass.
Last season, Tech swept the Tigers 7-0 in Atlanta. Caroline Lilley clinched the win with a 6-3, 6-3 win over AU’s Caroline Thornton in the second spot of the lineup.
In doubles, the Tigers are led by the pair of Jen Pfeifler and Jacqueline Kasler, who are ranked No. 72 this week. Tech is led by Jillian O’Neill and Alex Anghelescu who are ranked No. 9, and Lilley and Jasmine Minor who are No. 69.
O’Neill is Tech’s highest ranked singles player at No. 22. Elizabeth Kilborn, having played mostly from the No. 2 spot in the lineup, is No. 86 and Lilley is No. 95.
