No. 25 Georgia Tech Hosts Final Two Matches Of 2012

April 13, 2012

ATLANTA – The 25th-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team (10-10, 4-5 ACC) will host its final two matches of the 2012 regular season on Saturday and Sunday at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. The Yellow Jackets will take on the No. 75 NC State Wolfpack (7-13, 3-6 ACC) at noon Saturday and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (3-15, 0-9 ACC) at noon Sunday. Both matches are free and open to the public.

The Yellow Jackets will also recognize this year’s four seniors – Lynn Blau, Caroline Lilley, Jillian O’Neill and Viet Ha Ngo – prior to the match against Wake Forest.

The Yellow Jackets have won the last 16 matches against the Wolfpack and have not lost to State since head coach Bryan Shelton took the reins of the program over in 2000. Last season, the Jackets downed the Pack 4-3 in Raleigh, N.C., and Lilley clinched the win with a 6-3,7-5 win on court three.

Tech has won eight of the last nine meetings with Wake Forest, including a 6-1 victory March 27 last year in Winston-Salem. Ngo clinched the win with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win over the Deacs’ Kayla Duncan at the third spot of the lineup.
