No. 23 Volleyball Sweeps NC State

Jayme Gergen, Laura Kuhn, and Blair Moon each recorded a team-high 10 kills as the No. 23 Georgia Tech volleyball team swept NC State, 30-24, 30-13, 30-18. With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 23-5, 9-3 Atlantic Coast Conference while the Wolfpack fall to 3-26, 1-11 ACC.

“After a tough loss last night, I was proud of the way our team bounced back and played so effeciently and inspired,” said head coach Bond Shymansky. “I thought our defense and serve reception passing were especially strong, and particuarly Keight Vincent and Marisa Aston played very well. In addition, Laura Kuhn was outstanding, not recording an error in the entire match.”

Offensively, the Jackets outhit the Wolfpack .294 to .097. Kele Eveland recorded 30 assists and Lindsey Laband chipped in 13 as the two shared setting responsibilities. Defensively, the Jackets outdug the Wolfpack 50 to 34, as Vincent led the way with 14 digs, followed by Aston who had 13.

The Yellow Jackets will return to action Tuesday when they host Clemson at 7 p.m. in O’Keefe Gymnasium.
