No. 17 Tech Tennis Hits Tobacco Road, Meets Wake Forest and NC State

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s 17th-ranked women’s tennis team will hit the road to face a pair of ACC opponents this weekend. The Yellow Jackets (8-2, 2-0 ACC) will stop in Winston-Salem to meet No. 32 Wake Forest (5-4, 0-0 ACC) Saturday at 12 noon before traveling to Raleigh on Sunday, where they will play No. 71 NC State at 1 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets are coming off their second conference win of the season when they defeated Virginia Tech 6-1 Thursday afternoon and currently hold a 14-12 edge in the series against the Wolfpack but are just 4-20 vs. the Demon Deacons, with two of the four victories coming in the last two seasons.

Georgia Tech is led by rookie Kristi Miller, who currently stands 24th in the nation in singles play and is No. 20 with partner Alison Silverio in doubles action. Senior Dasha Potapova is currently ranked No. 94 in the nation in singles play.

Following their trip to North Carolina, the Yellow Jackets will return to action Wednesday when they travel to Athens to face the third-ranked Bulldogs at 3 p.m.
