No. 17 Jackets Sting Terriers, 78-49

THE FLATSEylia Love scored a career-high 19 points, and Lorela Cubaj notched her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 rebounds, leading 17th-ranked Georgia Tech to a 78-49 women’s basketball victory Tuesday afternoon over Boston University at McCamish Pavilion.

The Yellow Jackets earned their fifth straight win, improving to 10-2 this season behind their usual stout defense, limiting the Terriers to 32.7-percent shooting from the floor, and a dominant performance on the boards (44-26). Tech held its opponent under 50 points for the ninth time this season while establishing a season-high for points.

Leading 38-22 at the half, Tech dominated the third period, outscoring Boston, 27-6, as the Terriers could make just two of 18 field goal attempts. Love scored nine points to lead the Jackets in the period, hitting 4-of-5 shots from the floor. That enabled the Yellow Jackets to empty their bench in the fourth quarter and cruise to the victory.

Tech returns to action and to Atlantic Coast Conference play Thursday, Dec. 30, with a 4 p.m. contest at Pittsburgh. The game will be streamed live online via ACC Network Extra.
