ATLANTA – The No. 16 Georgia Tech women’s tennis team (5-5) returns home to open Atlantic Coast Conference play against the No. 34 Clemson Tigers (7-5) in a 2 p.m. match Wednesday at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. The Yellow Jackets will be trying for their third straight win over the Tigers.
Georgia Tech will be playing its first home match since a 5-2 win over No. 51 Princeton February 3, while the Tigers are playing their fourth straight road dual.
Senior Jillian O’Neill is the top-ranked Yellow Jacket in the latest Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings. O’Neill has climbed to No. 19 and has four wins over nationally-ranked opponents this season. Senior Caroline Lilley is 4-1 this season and is ranked No. 79. Junior Elizabeth Kilborn continues to climb the singles rankings and is up to No. 81 this week. Kilborn is 9-4 this season and also has four wins over nationally-ranked opponents.
The Tigers feature three ranked individuals, led by Keri Wong at No. 76, who is 15-4 this season. Sophomore Klara Vyskocilova is No. 90 and junior Nelly Ciolkowski is ranked No. 103.
The Jackets’ top doubles tandem of O’Neill and Alex Anghelescu is 5-2 against ranked foes and has rocketed up the rankings and comes in at No. 8 this week.
The Tigers are led in doubles by Wong and Josipa Bek, who finished as NCAA Runner-Up, who are ranked No. 20.
