No. 13 Tech Tennis Falls at No. 11 Baylor

ATLANTA–Eleventh-ranked Baylor (15-3) swept the six singles flights for a 6-1 victory over No. 13 Georgia Tech (12-3) Thursday at the Baylor Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.

The No. 1 singles flight featured a matchup of two of the nation’s top singles players between Tech’s Kristi Miller, who moved into the No. 1 national ranking this week, faced No. 8 Zuzana Zemenova, the defending NCAA champion. Zemenova won the match, 6-3, 6-3, snapping Miller’s 10-match winning streak.

Tech swept the three doubles flights with victories from Miller and Lyndsay Shosho at the No. 1 flight, Kelly Anderson and Whitney McCray at No. 2, and Kacie Anson and Alison Silverio at No. 3. Miller and Shosho, ranked 12th in doubles, defeated a Baylor duo ranked 28th, while Anderson and McCray knocked off the nation’s 39th-ranked duo.

Tech returns home this weekend to host a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference matches at the Bill Moore Tennis Center with Maryland Saturday at 12 noon, followed by Boston College Sunday at 11 a.m. Admission to all home matches is free. Live stats are available at www.ramblinwreck.com
