THE FLATS — As the 2016 NFL regular season came to an end this past weekend, a number of #ProJackets wrapped up the season on a high note, while five #ProJackets’ saw their teams make the playoffs.
DeAndre Smelter (1 rec., 23 yards) made his first career NFL catch on Sunday afternoon in the 49ers’ loss to the Seattle Seahawks, while Adam Gotsis (1 tackle, 1 FR) recorded his first fumble recovery in the Broncos’ win over Oakland.
Fellow rookie Christopher Milton (4 tackles, 3 solo, 1 PDef) made his first career start in Week 17, as he registered four total tackles and one pass defended in the Colts regular season finale win over the Jaguars.
Gotsis and Demaryius Thomas (4 rec., 47 yards) helped guide their Broncos to a win in the in final contest of the season, while Michael Johnson (2 tackles) of the Bengals, Milton of the Colts, Derrick Morgan (5 tackles) of the Titans and Daryl Smith (3 tackles) of the Bucs all saw their teams finish the 2016 season with a win.
Morgan Burnett (Green Bay Packers), Philip Wheeler (Atlanta Falcons), Shaq Mason (New England Patriots), T.J. Barnes (Kansas City Chiefs) and D.J. White (Kansas City Chiefs) all will suit up for their respective teams in the 2016 NFL Playoffs.
Burnett will be the lone #ProJacket in action next week, as the Packers will take on the New York Giants in the NFL Wild Card round on Sunday, Jan. 8, at 4:40 p.m. ET.
The other four #ProJackets and their teams will enjoy the bye week before competing in the NFL Divisional Round on Jan. 14 or 15.
