Musil Finishes Second in Discus at Pan American Junior Games

SAO PAULO, Brazil – Georgia Tech rising sophomore Samantha Musil placed second in the women’s discus with a mark of 152 feet, 7 inches at the 2007 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday.

Musil, a thrower from Dubois, Neb., earned a spot on Team USA when she finished second at the U.S Track & Field National Championships last month. Musil closed out her first season at Tech with team-best marks in both the discus and shot put. She also represented the Yellow Jackets at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The Jackets will return to action next winter when they open the track & field indoor season.
