GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech cross country sophomores Matt Munns and Nahom Solomon have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team, announced Thursday afternoon by the conference office.
“This is an outstanding honor for Nahom and Matt to be awarded, and both are very deserving,” head coach Alan Drosky said. “We’re very proud of them as they are great representatives of our program, the GTAA and the Institute. This award is truly a reflection of their commitment to excellence in their academics and in their sport.”
Solomon, a computer engineering major from Snellville, Ga., touts a 3.7 cumulative GPA, while Munns, a biology major from Marietta, Ga., carries a 3.52 GPA. Both earned 3.5 GPAs for the fall 2015 semester.
Munns was able to finish 12th at the JSU Struts Invite this fall and recorded a personal-best time of 25:15.1 in the 8k at the 2015 ACC Championships. Solomon finished 14th at JSU and was also able to record a personal-best 8k time this season, finishing with a time of 24:43.1 at the Pre-Nationals Invite in Louisville.
