March 10, 2006

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore Shantia Moss clocked a personal-record time of 8.19 in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing 10th, to lead the Georgia Tech women’s track and field team at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Arkansas’ Randal Tyson Indoor Track on Friday night.

Senior Andriane Lapsley finished 11th in the women’s 60-meter dash with a lifetime-best time of 7.30. Junior Fatmata Fofanah crossed the 60m hurdles finish line with the 16th-best time of the evening, posting a mark of 8.30.

Junior All-American Ashlee Kidd was not able to run the 400-meter dash for the Yellow Jackets. Kidd tweaked her hamstring at the end of the 200-meter dash at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships and was not able to recover in time for the national indoor championships.

Senior Brandy Depland will be the final competitor for the Jackets. Depland will participate in the women’s triple jump on Saturday at 5:10 p.m. ET.
