Morgan Jackson Named to All-ACC Academic Indoor Track Team

THE FLATS – Junior Morgan Jackson of the Georgia Tech track and field team was named to the 2014 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Academic Team, the ACC announced Friday.

To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.

Jackson majors in biomedical engineering and maintains a 3.53 cumulative GPA. The Kennesaw, Ga., native had a successful indoor track season improving on her mile time.

Jackson logged a mile time of 4:56.81 to kick off the indoor season Jan. 18. Since then, Jackson has continually shed seconds off her time and finished the indoor season with a career-best mark of 4:51.69 to take first at the Cupid Classic on Feb. 14.

The Jackets are back in action Thursday, April 17 – Saturday, April 19 at the ACC Outdoor Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C.
