Moore, Papakosta Earn All-ACC Honors

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Georgia Tech track & field competed in day two of the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday. Two Yellow Jackets earned All-ACC honors in Olivia Moore and Shanty Papakosta.

The first Jacket to earn All-ACC honors on the day was Moore in the women’s pole vault. She cleared 4.31m (14’1 ¾”) in the event to place sixth, good for second team All-ACC. Papakosta was the other Tech athlete to earn All-ACC honors when she cleared 1.78m (5’10”) in the women’s high jump placing fourth on the day.

In preliminary action, two Yellow Jackets qualified for the finals on Saturday. Zach Jaeger ran a personal best in the mile (4:05.46), good for second in his heat and the automatic qualifying position. Jaeger goes in to tomorrow’s final with the seventh best preliminary time.

Taylor Grimes also qualified for finals in the women’s 60 hurdles with a time of 8.27 seconds. This is 0.01 seconds off her personal best and is a season best. Grimes has the fourth best preliminary time heading in to Saturday’s finals.

The women’s team currently places 10th while the men’s team places 14th.
