ATLANTA-Tech senior leader Clarence Moore, star swimmer Sam Morgan and track standout Amandi Rhett were named the Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, March 29, 2004.
Moore, a senior from Norco, La., helped lead Tech to its second ever Final Four. He was named to the St. Louis Regional All-Tournament Team. Moore scored 14 points, six rebounds and had five steals in the Jackets win over Kansas and posted six points and eight rebounds against Nevada.
Morgan, a sophomore from Gainesville, Ga., earned All-America honors with a 15th-place finish in the 1500-meter freestyle. He led the team to a 35th-place finish at the Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships. Morgan finished 44th in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 3:55.91.
Rhett, a senior from Willingboro, N.J., was a member of the 4×200 relay team that broke the school record at the Florida Relays. She tallied an NCAA Region qualifying time of 11.71 in the 100-meter to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fourth place finish
