Miller Leads Tech on Final Day of Tiger Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. – Sophomore Jerome Miller cleared the bar at 6 feet, 9 ½ inches, to finish third in the high jump to lead the Georgia Tech men’s track and field team at the Tiger Classic on Saturday.

Freshman Juan Cave finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 7 ½ inches.

Senior Eric Massey and freshman Nigel Orr posted third-place finishes for the men’s team. Massey tallied a mark of 60 feet, 10 ½ inches, in the weight throw, and Orr posted a mark of 48 feet, 10 inches, in the triple jump.

Freshman Matt DiDia finished sixth in the men’s 400m with a time of 50.49.

In the men’s pole vault, senior Chase Sasser finished fifth with an indoor season-best tying mark of 15 feet, 1 inch, while freshman Danny Giglio finished sixth with an indoor season-best mark of 14 feet, 1 ¼ inches.

Sophomore Nazar Trilisky clocked a personal-record time of 4:26.77 in the men’s mile to finish in eighth place.

Junior Brandon Duckett posted a 10th-place finish in the men’s 200-meter dash with a time of 22.59 and finished 13th in the 400 meters with a time of 50.97.

The Jackets will take next week off in preparation for the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Championships, Feb. 23-25, in Blacksburg, Va.
