The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team fell to third-ranked UCLA, 7-0, at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on February 9.
Sophomores Roger Anderson and David Wright earned the Yellow Jackets’ lone victory of the day, defeating UCLA’s Lassi Ketola and Tobias Clemens, 9-8 (3) at No. 2 doubles. But the Bruins earned the doubles point by claiming the No. 1 and 3 matches and swept singles to improved to 4-0 on the young season.
Anderson also turned in a solid performance at No. 1 singles, winning the first set before falling to Jean-Noel Grinda, 7-6 (7), 1-6, 2-6. Freshman Alex Navinkov also extended his match to three sets at No. 6 singles, but eventually lost to Travis Rettenmaier, 2-6, 6-3, 2-6.
Georgia Tech is now 2-2 and plays at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
