Coral Gables, Fla. — The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team (5-4) fell to Miami, losing 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Carlos Divar and Phillip Gresk defeated Tatsuki Shimamoto and Adria Soriano Barrera, 7-5, but the Jackets were unable to clinch the doubles point.
In singles Andrew Li lead the way for the Jackets. Li defeated No. 75 Bojan Jankulovski, 6-2, 6-1.
Unfortunately the Jackets were unable to top the Hurricanes in singles, despite a great effort.
No. 106 Cole Gromley and Chris Yun both lost tough matches. Gromley fell to Dane Dunlap, 6-3, 6-3 while Yun dropped his match to Franco Aubone, 6-1, 7-6.
Josesph Gandolfo was defeated by William Grattan-Smith in a three-set battle falling, 6-1, 1-6, 6-1.
No. 36 Divar fell to No. 24 Barrera, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6, and Phillip Gresk dropped a three-set match to Bastias, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The Jackets will return home on Feb. 24 at 11:00 a.m. to face Tennessee.
