Men's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at NCAA District Meet

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (November 14) — Georgia Tech’s men’s cross country team finished sixth and the women’s team ninth in the NCAA District IX meet held Saturday in Birmingham. Junior Becky Megesi (Jonesboro, Ga.) had the best finish by a Yellow Jacket as she placed ninth in a personal-best time of 17:35 and won All-District honors.

The men had two individuals finish in the top 30 to finish sixth as a squad as junior Brad Mills (Toledo, Ohio) was 26th in a time of 32:38, while sophomore Joe Stegall (Ryder, Ga.) was 28th in a mark of 32:48. Senior Judy Johnson (Snellville, Ga.) had a top 40 finish as she placed 39th in a time of 18:25 to help the women’s team to a top 10 placement.

Women: 9—Becky Megesi, 17:35; 39—Judy Johnson, 18:25; 74—Tina Frey, 19:10; 75—Rachael Caruso, 19:11; 77—Carolyn Krieger, 19:12; 103—Elizabeth Greene, 19:45.
