ATLANTA – On the strength of singles wins by junior Joao Menano and senior Fabio Campos, the Georgia Tech men’s tennis team claimed a 5-2 win over Furman on Monday afternoon at the Bill Moore Tennis Center in Atlanta, Ga.

The Yellow Jackets (4-2) fell behind early in the match to the Paladins (3-4) by dropping two of three doubles matches to open the day. Tech’s lone win in doubles play came at No. 2, as the team of Marko Rajevac and Menano defeated Furman’s tandem of Dasef Weems and Andrew Rogers by an 8-6 score.

Tech was able to rally in singles play, winning five of the six matches. Menano gave the Jackets a 3-2 lead in the match with his dramatic win at No. 3 over Chris Henderson. The junior won the first set by a 6-4 score before dropping the second by the same 6-4 score. Menano then rallied from 5-4 down in the third to win the match 7-5.
