Martin Falls in First Round of NCAA Singles Play

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech men’s tennis’ Andres Martin concluded individual competition for the season after falling in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championships.

Martin was defeated in a 6-2, 6-3 decision by Texas’ Micah Braswell.

Throughout the spring, Martin consistently provided success for Tech on the court. He finished dual match play with a 21-5 singles record and tallied a 15-5 record against nationally ranked opponents through the 2022-23 season. Heading into the championships, the junior earned one of his best individual rankings at No. 6 in the nation.

Martin will be joined by Marcus McDaniel tomorrow as the duo kicks off the first round of doubles play against Vanderbilt’s Jeremie Casabon and Siim Troost.
