THE FLATS – Wide receiver Jullian “Juju” Lewis (Davie, Fla./Western H.S.) became the 14th member of Georgia Tech football’s incoming class of true freshmen when he signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Tech and play football for the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday.
“We’re excited to officially welcome Jullian to the Georgia Tech football family,” head coach Geoff Collins said. “We’re very pleased with our talented group of newcomers, which currently includes 14 incoming true freshmen and seven transfers. They are all great young men that have a chance to be special players on the football field. I can’t wait to get back to work on the field with our group in less than three weeks and to welcome our entire team to The Flats this summer.”
Eight of Tech’s 13 signees in December’s early signing period were four-star prospects according to Rivals, 247Sports and/or ESPN. According to Rivals, it is the Yellow Jackets’ second-highest concentration of four-star recruits since it began its rankings in 2002, trailing only the famed 2007 recruiting class that included future Tech stars Derrick Morgan, Morgan Burnett, Joshua Nesbitt and Jonathan Dwyer.
The Yellow Jackets also added seven transfers who enrolled at Tech at the beginning of the spring semester last month. The Jackets’ incoming group of transfers is ranked No. 20 nationally and No. 2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference by 247Sports.
