Kurey Cruises to Consolation Finals at Regionals

ATHENS, Ga. – Senior Megan Kurey won back-to-back matches at USTA/Southeast Regionals at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., to advance to the consolation singles draw finals.

Kurey matched up against FIU’s Nina Nagode in the round of 16 of the consolation singles bracket. After winning set one, 6-3, Kurey edged Nagode in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (3).

In the semifinals, Kurey won again in straight-sets, notching a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Elizabeth Means of FGCU.

Kurey will face FIU’s Maryna Veksler in the consolation finals tomorrow at 11 a.m.
