Kurey and Woodard Ranked #1 in Newest ITA Poll

THE FLATS – Sophomores Megan Kurey and Kendal Woodard of the Georgia Tech women’s tennis team are ranked as the #1 double team in the country in the newest ITA Division I Tennis Rankings.

The tandem is 3-0 together this spring and has won 13-straight doubles matches together, dating back to the fall season. Kurey and Woodard won the 2013 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships doubles title in November.

Woodard also broke into the singles rankings and is tied for 94th. She is 2-0 this spring on court one.

The Yellow Jackets (2-1, 0-0 ACC) are ranked at #21 in the team rankings. Tech is 1-1 against ranked opponents this season after defeating #25 Nebraska, 4-0, and falling to #16 Vanderbilt, 4-3. The Jackets won their first home match of the season, blanking Old Dominion, 4-0.

The Jackets are back in action this weekend, traveling to #27 Tennessee at noon on Saturday.
