ATLANTA – Tennis and golf All-Americans Kevin King and James White each were named Friday to the Capitol One Academic All-District 4 Men’s At-Large team chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Student-athletes are eligible for consideration in the sports of golf, tennis and swimming and diving if they maintain a minimum 3.2 grade-point average for their academic careers.
King, a senior from Peachtree City, Ga., has a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average in Mechanical Engineering and will graduate this summer. White, a senior from Acworth, Ga., has a 3.69 GPA in Management and graduated on May 5. Both student-athletes are now eligible for consideration for the Capital One Academic All-America At-Large team.
King, a three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection and a 2011 All-American, is preparing to play in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships next week in Athens, Ga.
King is currently No. 24 in the ITA rankings with a 27-9 singles record for the year and has been ranked as high as No. 7 this spring. He enjoyed a stellar fall in which he won the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional and advanced to the USTA/ITA National Indoor quarterfinals. The left-hander has a 79-40 career singles record, 26-15 in ACC matches. In doubles, he and partner Juan Spir are ranked No. 2 nationally and have a 65-21 career record.
White, the nation’s 19th-ranked player and the winner of the Byron Nelson Award, also is a three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree. He earned first-team All-America honors in 2011 and was named the ACC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year in golf. This year, he has five top-10 finishes this year and a stroke average of 70.9, which ranks fourth in the ACC. He is currently leading the 9th-ranked Yellow Jackets in pursuit of a berth in the NCAA Championship finals.
