Kidd Advances in 400 at IAAF World Junior Championships

GROSSETO, Italy – Georgia Tech freshman track standout Ashlee Kidd posted a time of 53.56 in the 400 meters on Tuesday morning to qualify for the semifinals at the IAAF World Junior Championships.

Joining Kidd in the semifinals will be U.S. teammate, Natasha Hastings, tallying the top time of the morning session with a mark of 52.61.

Kidd, who earned All-America honors in the 4x100m Relay at the 2004 Outdoor NCAA Track and Field Championships, finished second in the 400 at the U.S. Junior National Championships to qualify for the World Championships and represent Team USA.

The semifinals, scheduled for Wednesday at 1:50 p.m. ET, will run two heats of eight, with the top four from each heat advancing to the finals. For more information on the championship event, go to IAAF World Junior Championships Schedule and Results.
