Greensboro, N.C. – Graduate student Pierre Jordan and sophomore Nate Hicks have been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference’s 2012 All-ACC Academic Team for basketball, the ACC Commissioner John Swofford announced Friday.
Jordan, a 6-0 guard from Dunwoody, Ga., enrolled at Tech in the Building Construction graduate program after graduating from Florida State last summer. Hicks, a 6-10 center from Panama City Beach, Fla., is majoring in Management.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Jordan has played in 26 of Tech’s 29 games this year, missing three with an illness early in the year. He has averaged 1.5 points per game. Hicks has played in 22 games, missing the last 6 while recovering from mononucleosis, and has averaged 1.2 points and 2.1 rebounds.
