PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – Kirsten Flower recorded a straight-set singles win Sunday afternoon to lead Georgia Tech on the final day of competition in the National Collegiate Tennis Classic, which was contested at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Palm Springs, Calif.
Flower posted a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Baylor’s Jessica Zok in a consolation match to improve to 2-1 in the tournament on the weekend.
Elsewhere in singles play, Tech’s Christy Striplin saw her run in the main draw come to an end in the semifinals, falling 1-6, 7-5, 6-0 to UCLA’s Yasmin Schnack while Amanda Craddock dropped a 6-1, 6-2 match to Zuzana Cerna in the consolation semis.
The Jackets will return to action at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, which is scheduled to begin the first weekend in February.
