Jackets Wrap Up Miami Fall Invite

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Georgia Tech women’s tennis wrapped up the fall season on Sunday at the Miami Fall Invite, pocketing five wins. Mahak Jain and Kate Sharabura went undefeated in singles action over the three-day tournament.

Tech played just one doubles match on the final day as Sharabura partnered with freshman Given Roach to top Northwestern’s Maria Shusharina and Jennifer Riester, 6-3.

To conclude singles play, the Jackets saw wins from Jain, Meera Jesudason, Roach and Sharabura. Jain concluded a successful tournament, collecting a three-set win over Miami’s Leonie Schuknecht. The opponents split the first two sets, 6-4, 2-6, to force a deciding third set. Jain clinched the victory in the third set, 6-3, for her third singles win of the weekend. Also winning her third singles match, Sharabura downed Elisa Van Meeteren (Northwestern), 6-2, 6-4. All three wins from Sharabura this weekend came in straight-sets.

Freshmen Jesudason and Roach kept their winning ways rolling from Saturday, both proving victorious on the final day. Jesudason topped Autumn Rabjohns (Northwestern), 6-2, 6-3, while Roach rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Dinara Alloiarova (Barry) to conclude the tournament.

Over the three-day weekend in Coral Gables, the Jackets pocketed 18 wins between doubles and singles play. Georgia Tech will return to action in the spring season.
