THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis continues this homestand welcoming Winthrop for a Saturday morning matchup at 11 a.m. at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
THE SCENE: Tech seeks its first win of the season after falling to No. 20 Texas Tech most recently. The Jackets, 0-3, have been led by Kenya Jones in the early season. The junior has posted a 2-0 mark from court one to open dual play and carries a 15-5 overall record.
Winthrop comes into the contest with a 2-1 record having defeated William & Mary and Memphis. The Eagles boast two players that remain undefeated in singles action on the young season – Lauren Proctor and Rafaela Santos.
The Jackets and Eagles met last season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. Tech cruised to a 4-0 decision to advance to the round of 16 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
