ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia Tech men’s tennis dropped its second match in a row, losing 4-0 to Georgia, on Sunday afternoon at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Carlos Divar and Phillip Gresk lost a nail-biter match to the nation’s 51st-ranked doubles duo, Robert Loeb and Jan Zielinksi, 7-6, with the Bulldogs winning the tiebreaker point.
Cole Gromley and Andrew Li also lost a tough match. Their loss came to Walker Duncan and Phillip Henning, 7-5.
Joseph Gandolfo and Zummy Bauer battled Emil Reinberg and Alex Diaz, but their match was ended early at 6-6, due to Georgia clinching the doubles point.
In singles, Gresk lost to the number two ranked player in the country, Zielinski, 6-3, 0-6, 3-6.
No. 68 Gromley and Li both lose hard fought battles. Gromley was defeated by Henning, 4-6, 6-4, 4-6, while Li lost his match to Loeb, 6-4, 3-6, 3-6.
Chris Yun led Duncan, 2-1, and Joseph Gandolfo was knotted up with Croyder, 1-1, before both of their matches were called due to Georgia clinching the match.
The Jackets will be at home for their next match on Friday, Feb. 8 at 5:00 p.m. against Kennesaw State.
