Jackets Sweep Rams to Open I-75 Challenge

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball (11-6) opened the I-75 Challenge with a sweep of Fordham (5-11) taking the first game of the doubleheader 1-0 before completing the sweep with a 4-3 win in game two.

Game 1: Georgia Tech 1, Fordham 0

JuniorΒ Drew Puckett records the first hit of the game for the Jackets with a double in the bottom of the second.

Game 2: Georgia Tech 4, Fordham 3

With the score at 0-0 in the bottom of the third, sophomoreΒ Breanna Roper hits an RBI single to bring in sophomoreΒ Cameron Stanford from third to put Tech up 1-0.

Tied 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth, juniorΒ Isabella Many pinch hits a double off the right field wall to score Stanford and puts Tech back on top 4-3.

The Yellow Jackets continue play in the I-75 Challenge on Saturday, March 2, hosting a doubleheader with Hofstra at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
