Jackets Split for Tiger Classic and Florida Relays

THE FLATS — The Georgia Tech track and field team splits up this weekend to compete in the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala. and the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla. on Friday and Saturday.

Action begins Friday at the Tiger Track Classic at 3 p.m. ET, and Saturday’s competition starts at 12 p.m. ET. In Gainesville, collegiate competition begins Friday at 12 p.m. ET and Saturday at 10 a.m. ET.

Twenty-four Yellow Jackets will compete in 11 events at the Florida Relays, while 50 Jackets will compete in 23 events at the Tiger Track Classic.

Action on both days at the Florida Relays will air on the SEC Network + beginning Friday at 12 p.m. ET and Saturday at 2:15 p.m. ET. Be sure to tune in for the men’s 800-meter relay at 3:35 p.m. ET on Saturday, as the Yellow Jackets hold the track record in Gainesville (7:16.89), which they set last season.

In Georgia Tech’s most recent action, five Yellow Jackets won their events at the Yellow Jacket Invite. Morgan Jackson (women’s 800m), Andres Littig (men’s 800m), Courtney Naser (3,000-meter steeplechase), Samantha Becker (women’s pole vault) and the women’s 4×400-meter relay team all won their events.
