Jan. 12, 2006

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams will return to action this Friday-Saturday, Jan. 13-14, at the Kentucky Invitational, in Lexington, Ky. The indoor track meet will get underway at 6 p.m. on Friday night.

“The Kentucky Invitational is a great meet to start off the spring semester,” said women’s head coach Alan Drosky. “The facility is first-class and the competition will be very good. Coming off the Christmas break, the women appear fit and ready to go and we expect some outstanding performances.”

Three Tech athletes have already attained NCAA Provisional marks this indoor season. Senior Andriane Lapsley clocked a NCAA mark of 7.42 in the 60-meter dash at the Clemson Opener on Dec. 3rd. Junior Ashlee Kidd posted a time of 54.50 in the 400 meters, while sophomore Shantia Moss ran a provisional time of 8.33 in the 60m hurdles.
