Jackets Ready for Opening Track Weekend

The Flats – The Yellow Jackets begin their 2018-19 campaign on Nov. 30 at the BSC Indoor Icebreaker in Birmingham, Ala. and on Dec. 1 at the BU Season Opener in Boston, Mass.

Georgia Tech plans on bringing 10 student-athletes to the BSC Indoor Icebreaker-eight of whom will be from the women’s team. Those traveling on the women’s team will be: Reese Crawford (400m), Ebony Forbes (60H), Taylor Grimes (60H), Bri Hayden (400m), Dasia Smith (Long Jump), Jordynn Tyndall (800m), Jeanine Williams (60H), and Denise Woode (400m).

The men’s team plans on bringing both Maurice Simpson (60m, 200m) and Wesley Watkins, Jr. (60H) to the BSC Indoor Icebreaker.

In-state rival Georgia State will also make an appearance along with Emory, Mississippi College and other top programs such as Tulane, UAB and Troy.

For the BU Season Opener, the Yellow Jackets will be bringing Chris Korabik (3000m) and Nahom Solomon (5000m).

A number of top schools will also be competing, including arch rival Georgia, New Mexico, and Wichita State.

The Jackets next competition will be after the new year at the Clemson Invitational on Jan. 11-12.
