Jackets Prepare for Pair of Weekend Matches

THE FLATS – No. 35 Georgia Tech will play a pair of weekend ACC matches beginning on Friday traveling to No. 3 Duke. The Jackets then host No. 27 Syracuse on Sunday at noon at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.

THE SCENE: Coming off their ACC opener last weekend with a sweep over Pitt, the Jackets look to extend its win streak and grab a pair of league victories. Georgia Tech brings a 4-4 overall record into the weekend along with a 1-0 ACC ledger.

Winners of two straight, the third-ranked Duke Blue Devils return home to welcome Georgia Tech on Friday night at 5 p.m. at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center. Duke opened conference play last weekend, defeating No. 12 Florida State, 5-2, and No. 18 Miami, 4-3. Duke stands at 9-1 overall on the season and 2-0 against ACC opponents.

Syracuse owns an 8-4 overall ledger and stands at 2-2 in conference play on the young season. The Orange have won four-straight entering Sunday’s match in Atlanta and checked-in at No. 27 in the latest ITA poll.
