THE FLATS — Georgia Tech men’s tennis (8-8, 3-4) will host No. 3 Wake Forest (21-3, 7-0) on Friday evening at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
In last weekend’s matches, the Jackets traveled to face No. 5 Virginia and unranked Virginia Tech, dropping both matches.
The Jackets fell to No. 5 Virginia, 4-0 and dropped their match to Virginia Tech by a final score of 4-2.
The Demon Deacons, meanwhile, have not lost a match in their last six opportunities, including wins over then-No. 3 Virginia, 6-1, and No. 14 Notre Dame, 6-1.
On the season, Carlos Divar and Phillip Gresk have both been a steady force for the Yellow Jackets. As doubles partners the two have accumulated for a 10-3 record, winning eight of their last 10.
In singles, Divar ranks No. 30 in the latest ITA poll for the second consecutive week with an overall record of 10-6.
