Jackets Head to Clemson for Tiger Classic

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams will travel to Clemson, S.C., for the third time this indoor season for the Tiger Classic, Friday-Saturday, Feb. 10-11. The meet will begin at 5 p.m. with the Distance Medley Relay.

With just two weeks left until the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Championships, the Jackets will take a split squad and rest the other half.

Senior Brandy Depland will be in action again for the Jackets after setting a new school record and NCAA Automatic qualifying mark of 44 feet, 2 inches, in the women’s triple jump last Saturday.

Junior Fatmata Fofanah will compete for Tech after posting a NCAA Provisional time of 8.28 in the women’s 60-meter high hurdles. Sophomore Shantia Moss clocked an indoor season-best and NCAA Provisional time of 8.33 in the 60m hurdles the last time Tech competed at Clemson.

Leading the men’s team is sophomore Jerome Miller. Miller posted a NCAA Provisional and school-record tying clear of 7 feet, 1 ¾ inches, at the Kentucky Invitational on Jan. 14th.

Senior Andriane Lapsley ran her second fastest time of the indoor season at Clemson, finishing with a NCAA Provisional time of 7.42 in the women’s 60-meter dash. Lapsley posted a season-best time of 7.40 last weekend at Notre Dame.
