Jackets Finish Competition at Meyo Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind.– Sophomore All-American Ashlee Kidd posted a NCAA Provisional time of 53.76 in the 400-meter dash to lead the 18th-ranked Georgia Tech women’s track and field team at the Meyo Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Senior Brian Ford tallied a fourth-place finish in the 400 to lead the men.

Depland finished the women’s triple jump with a personal-record mark of 42’5.50″ to tally her second NCAA Provisional mark of the indoor season in that event. Howard won her 18th straight collegiate high jump competition with a clear of 6’0.50″.

Ford tallied a pair of season-best times in the 200- and 400-meter dash events for the Yellow Jackets. The Ashland, Va., native crossed the finish line in fourth place in the 400 with a lifetime-best time of 47.34 and finished 13th in the 200 with a season-best mark of 21.81.

Senior Dana Rogers tallied a first-place finish in the women’s 60-meter high hurdles with a NCAA Provisional time of 8.29. Freshman Shantia Moss posted a personal-record time of 8.34 to finish second in the 60m hurdles, while sophomore Fatmata Fofanah also recorded a NCAA Provisional time in the 60m hurdles, finishing third with a personal-record mark of 8.43.

Junior Andriane Lapsley finished the women’s 60-meter dash in second place with a time of 7.46 and ran a time of 8.60 in the preliminaries of the women’s 60m hurdles. Rogers finished sixth with a personal-record time of 7.59 and senior Dennis Davis posted a season-best time of 6.95 in the men’s prelims, finishing 10th in the finals (6.98).

Senior Neil McDonagh ran a season-best time of 4:09.56 in the men’s mile to finish the race in third place. Seniors Zeb Sion and Jonathan Spillman led the Jackets in the men’s shot put with fourth- and fifth-place finishes, respectively. Sion finished with a mark of 56’1″, while Spillman had a throw of 55’4.25″.

Sophomore James Lemons II tallied a sixth-place finish for Tech in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 48’6.25″. Freshman Jerome Miller posted a mark of 6’9″ in the men’s high jump to finish in seventh place.

Senior All-ACC performer Kyle Rabbitt ran a Tech season-best time of 8:15.55 in the men’s 3000 meters to finish the race in 17th place.

The men’s and women’s track and field teams will travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn., next Saturday, Feb. 12, for the Middle Tennessee State Invitational.
