Yellow Jackets Earn Back-to-Back Wins, Besting Clemson 5-2

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis earns back-to-back ACC wins by beating Clemson 5-2 at Ken Byers Tennis Complex. Tech is now 2-0 in outdoor dual matches this season.

The match started off fast for the Jackets with Keshav Chopra and Chen Dong making quick work of their doubles match, winning it 6-1.

The No. 7 doubles pairing of Andres Martin and Marcus McDaniel closed out the doubles point for tech with a 6-3 win on court one.

Taking the momentum of winning the doubles point into singles competition, the Yellow Jackets took the next three singles matches to clinch the match 4-0.

This came by way of Dong winning at No. 4 singles 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, followed by Pablo Schelcher at No. 6 singles 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 before No. 30 Martin secured the win for Tech winning his match 6-2, 6-7(10-8), 7-5.

With the match already in hand, Clemson took two of the remaining three matches with Chopra being the final Jacket to win on the day, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3.

The White and Gold return to action against Boston College on Friday at 4 p.m. Admission to the match is free.
